There is Nothing Like a Visit to Hayward, Wisconsin!
Ask anyone who has been here before... you always return.... again and again. Its a family tradition!
Our location is perfect.... just under 3 hours from the Twin Cities... and around 6-7 from the Chicago area. Just close enough to be a day trip... just far enough to really feel like you've gotten away.
We are a small town... with a rich history. Famous for our beautiful lakes and abundant fishing... yet never run out of activities for everyone to enjoy. Shop to your hearts content; Eat till you say "No More"; Play... Play... Play.... there are no limits.... Water sports, golf, off road biking on the CAMBA Trails, hiking, crosscountry and downhill skiing... just to name a few.
It would be a shame not to mention our World Class Events... The American Birkebeiner Cross Country Race (February: Largest race in North America); Fishing Has No Boundaries (May: A fishing contest for the physically challenged); Lumberjack World Championships (July: The top lumber sports men and women from all over the world compete for their titles); Winterfest: (January: World level snowmobile racing); Fat Tire Cross Country Bike Race (September); Musky Fest (June: Hugh fishing contest, plus, events).... anyway.... you get the idea. We are the place to be, anytime of the year.
We could write a volume of books on and about the Hayward area... but the best thing to do is visit us. We're easy and convenient.... accommodating and social.... active yet relaxing all at once.
